Top European Beach Hostels: Hostels are no longer just the domain of city centre's and with the evenings getting longer and thoughts beginning to turn to this year's summer getaway, Hostelworld.com has released the top 10 European beach hostels. All of these beach hostels are located within easy reach of some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe and ensure that, despite the climate, this year's summer holiday can remain firmly in the plans.

The Famous Pink Palace is located on one of the most famous beaches on Corfu - Agios Gordios and suits every travel budget, from backpacker to jet setter. Included in the price of a room is a full cooked breakfast until 11am, traditional Greek home-cooked 3 course evening meal (served on the garden restaurant overlooking the beach) and access to private sun-loungers on the beach.

The hostel can also organise a wide-range of activities for guests and offers rooms ranging from one and two bed to bigger dorms, the majority with en-suite bathrooms. [ Original Source: http://www.hostelworld.com/press/Top-European-Beach-Hostels ]

World's 10 craziest party hostels: From London to Amsterdam, Corfu to Berlin, if you listen closely you'll hear the sound of a debauched hostel party in full swing. Early-to-bed crew, stay away. These hostels aren’t for the easily perturbed. But if you’re after a few nights of hedonism and late-night drinking sessions, then you’re in luck. Here’s a list of some of the world’s most-popular party hostels, famed on the traveling circuit for their raunchy displays of excess and debauchery.

Forget about Greece’s economic woes for a moment. No one seems to be crying about it into their ouzo at The Pink Palace on the Greek island of Corfu. Once the popular haunt of Queen way-out-in-front-man Freddie Mercury, who gifted it its name, this hostel is an institution, as well as a well-known hedonistic oasis. There is a 24-hour cocktail bar, along with a beach bar complete with a Jacuzzi chill-out area. An on-site nightclub also caters to the masses that congregate there for the popular Saturday night Pink Toga parties.

If you’re really keen, also check out the Booze Cruise with cliff jumping (“sometimes naked”), Ouzo Cup volleyball, matchmaker nights and pajama parties. [ Original Source: http://travel.cnn.com/explorations/play/worlds-craziest-party-hostels-718516 ]

The Pink Palace is the ultimate party hostel: In fact, it's more like a resort than anything else. Situated on the Island of Corfu in Greece, this hostel has 800 beds, but has been known to "find space" for up to 1100 guests at once! If you stay four nights, the fifth night is discounted.

The rooms are nice. They offer two types: one with air conditioning, nicer showers, and terraces, and the other without. There is maid service everyday that will change your sheets, bring you fresh towels, and clean the bathroom.

Along with your room, you also recieve two meals per day. Breakfast is the best you'll get on your travels. Every morning has a selection of bread, jams & nutella, fruit, coffee and juice, like any other hostel. However, there is also a hot component every morning, something like amazing omelettes, or eggs and hash browns. You also have a choice of cold cereal.

Dinners are three course meals - a vegetable soup, a salad (you get to choose what's on it), and an entree with bread. Then the staff sits you down randomly in tables of 8 people, so you're guaranteed to meet people. After dinner, the hall becomes a dance club. Make sure you're there on Saturday night, for a crazy toga party complete with Greek dancing, Ouzo chugging, plate smashing, and beer races. It's a crazy party not to be missed.

There are a ton of activites available through the hostel including kayaking (with snorkels), ATV rental, massages, a booze cruise (all day cruise with TONS of alcohol and cliff jumping), etc. Internet access is somewhat slow, but affordable.

Partying at The Pink Palace in Corfu, Greece: Toga parties, booze cruises and an on-site nightclub—nestled right on the beach in Agios Gordios Bay — The Pink Palace offers self-indulgent delights for all persuasions. Guests can explore the Ionian underworld on the Palace’s famous “Boat Excursion", which includes a day of beer bongs, cliff diving and snorkelling. Those who prefer solid land to three-hour tours can bask in the Greek sun while off-roading around the local monasteries, castles, and sand dunes on a four-wheeler safari. Those still standing can dance the night away at one of the Palace’s world-famous toga parties in their private nightclub — The Palladium, complete with ouzo circles, plate smashing, and beer races. From Here to There: Upon arrival, they gave us shots of uzo and then ushered us to dinner. Saturday night is toga night, so we dressed up. With a six-hour long happy hour, we ended up getting a little tipsy, and when combined with all the plates that were smashed on our heads (it was Greek night) we woke up pretty hungover. We'll be at the Pink Palace for three nights, but I can see how people end up staying longer.

Our original plan was to camp on the Greek Island of Corfu. When staying in Berat, however, we heard that the Pink Palace was an awesome hostel in Corfu and the place to be. We looked at the website, and sure enough, it looked great. Free breakfast and dinner, free pickup, and activities most days of the week. In Sarande, we ran into some guys who were just at the Palace and they had some horror stories; they described it almost like a drunken prison. We were worried that the place was going to be really isolated, and that we could only leave the hostel at the once-a-day six in the morning bus. In actuality, it was really cool. Aside from the mess hall. [ Original Source: http://markbuttweiler.blogspot.gr/2011/07/pink-palace.html ]

Sharena, Amirah and Shabina from Leicester, England: "I have just come back from Corfu and what can I say. The Pink Palace is the place to be. Myself and my two sisters went together and we had a blast. The atmosphere is loud and fun and the staff are all fantastic. Thank you to all our new found friends Eric, Mike, Saddam and Niko you guys rock!! We had the opportunity to meet Dr George who is so kind. The activities are great, the beach is gorgeous and the disco at the Palladium is the place to be for a rocking evening. We will definately be coming back again. Can't wait."

Kristine Beuerlrin from Canada: "Dear Pink Palace Hostel Management, I am writing to inform you of how enjoyable my stay at your hostel was. This past August I spent approximately a week at The Pink Palace while vacationing in Greece. Throughout my stay I found the quality of service to be exceptional, and I would definitely stay at your hostel again in the future.

During my stay I was rather pleased with the quality of service provided. All the staff members that were working during my time at your hostel were all very friendly and genuinely wanted to make sure that all guests were enjoying every minute of their stay.

They were always energetic and enthusiastic and tried to get all the guests involved in activities such as volleyball tournaments, and even participated  themselves.

I was also extremely impressed with the amount of leisure activities that were offered. There was never a dull moment, and I wish I had spent more time at your hostel as I didn't have time to take part in all the activities that I would have liked to.

The ones I did take advantage of were the volleyball tournament, the boat excursion, the kayak rental, and the four-wheeler quad rental to tour the island. All these activities were well organized and were a great and fun way to see as much of the island as possible and to meet other guests.

Through the participation in activities I met lots of new friends from many different places around the world, and made memories I will never forget.

I was also quite pleased with the services provided. The free shuttle you offer from the airport to your hostel was absolutely brilliant. It helped make planning my trip less stressful as I didn't have to plan any means of transportation to or from the airport, as it can be a bit of challenge in a foreign country which you have never visited before.

I would like to thank you for helping make my trip as memorable as it was. I have already recommended to a number of people to stay at your hostel if they are ever in Corfu, and I will continue to do so, and if I am ever to visit Corfu again i will definitely stay at The Pink Palace. Sincerely, Kristine Beuerlein"

Kim from Stockholm, Sweden: "I had the best time at Pink Palace this summer in august! Me and my 4 friends from Sweden were on a backpacking tour and came to Corfu "by accident". Now all I wanna do is go back! I will of course go back next summer! The best way of spending a vacation!"

Marica Rellano from Mexico: "Pink Palace Beach Resort in Corfu is the best value for your money. The room had a nice balcony with view to the beach. Free wi-fi, reasonable prices at the snack bar. Breakfast buffet with plenty food and amazing dinner. Incredible beach. The hospitality of all the staff remarkable as well. I bought the way back to Athens for the best price, a van for two with NIKO the driver, who was very nice. Thnaks Pink Palace Beach Resort!

Sanders from Holland: "The 10 lies on the back of the shirts are down & dirty lies – and all of them are true. Twelve days of cool people."

Nicola from Australia: "Pink Palace was awesome definately worth the stay - booze cruise is a must, great breakfast & dinner included (lunch is very cheap and large portioned). Organised activities and heaps of free ouzo and toga parties!"

Evelyn P. from UK: "I was pleasantly surprised by the large Hotel grounds which spread down to the beach, with fantastic views of the coast and amazing sunsets. Great choice of rooms, far from or near to the party action in the nightclub, and lovely dining room. Clean, great service from the staff who were very willing to please & help make our group holiday one to remember. Also lots of activities such as, kayaking, boating or quad biking or learning Greek dancing. I'm looking forward to going again next year. Room Tip: Higher rooms have the best views but being on the beach for breakfast is great too."

Jenh Levy from USA: "If you are single and travelling through Europe for the summer The Pink Palace is a must. They will welcome you to the palace family with a shot of ouzo which will start your stay in the right way. The hotel is clean and the staff are there to please. Everyone that goes to the palace good time. Yamas! PS. - be sure to say "Hi" to George!"

Josh Mp3 from USA: "They do serve pink ouzo as soon as you arrive (before you decide to stay even :) Cheap beds available on rooftop, sandy beach, clearblue water... shenanigans ensue!"
